ZENPRISE RECEIVES HIGH MARKS IN INFOWORLD REVIEW OF EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT TOOLS

Zenprise “Dramatically Speeds Resolution of Troubleshooting Issues”

Fremont, CA - March 24, 2006 – Zenprise, Inc. today announced that InfoWorld has given Zenprise 1.0 high marks for its troubleshooting, ease of use, manageability, and reporting capabilities. In the March 16, 2006 issue InfoWorld recognized Zenprise for its ability to accurately diagnose email problems and effectively provide detailed resolution instructions to system administrators. Additionally, the article discussed how Zenprise can complement the other reviewed tools to provide administrators with advanced automated troubleshooting capabilities. Other tools reviewed include DYS Analytics Email Control for Exchange, Microsoft Exchange 2003 Management Pack for MOM and Quest Spotlight on Exchange.

"Zenprise provides clear, useful instructions on how to resolve problems," Logan Harbaugh, senior contributing editor for InfoWorld, stated in the article. “Its real-time, automated diagnosis and resolution extends to other network problems, such as Internet connectivity, firewall blips, and DNS hiccups as well—all issues that can impact Exchange performance.” The evaluation went on to say, “Opposed to many historical tracking systems, there’s no need for the administrator to guess at thresholds for alerts because the software creates its own thresholds based on all data collected to date.”

The testing environment consisted of two Active Domain controllers, two Exchange servers, and an anti-spam appliance. The group evaluation tested several error conditions which included interrupting connectivity between two servers, creating zero free space on a server drive and stopping an Exchange service. Products were evaluated on their ability to accurately detect and report these errors.

“Although many administrators tend to regard expert systems with skepticism, Zenprise provides useful diagnostic advice and clear, accurate instructions on how to correct a problem,” Harbaugh states. “Zenprise could well keep troublesome Exchange networks from ever becoming a real problem—or at least dramatically speed resolution to problems when they occur.”
